Zambia…

I found out today that I get to go to Zambia for a week for work. I will be there the week of September 18th. I got several vaccinations today…Typhoid, Yellow Fever, Meningitis, Polio booster, Hepatitis A, and some Malaria pills. My arm is killing me! Should be an interesting trip. Hopefully I will get to take some good pictures. Yeah, yeah, I will post them up when I get back.

I will provide more details next week as I find out a bit more…

10 Things I Learned Over Byron’s Wedding Weekend

10. Amir is NOT a terrorist…at least that is what he told everyone in his speech. Pictures in his pink turbin may indicate otherwise. :)
9. Beer and Taco Cabana’s Gigante Burrito from the night before might make all the groomsmen standing behind you pass out…or whatever Wes ate mixed with gallons of Red Bull….
8. After the wedding, it is too late for the WEDGE!
7. Buck can get down!
6. Rhinestone ankle ties make pimpin’ headbands!
5. Whenever going through the drive through, don’t get out to talk to the people behind you…your ride might just drive off!
4. Amir turns into the Beast from the Middle East when bowling!
3. Sitters or Standers..which to go to when the urge hits???
2. Taco Cabana is open 24 hours, but their restroom is NOT…be careful when using their “outhouse” or you might end up with a wet shoe…just ask the girl from #5.
1. Chicken Pot Pie is NEVER a good idea when going out drinking…don’t worry! It wasn’t one of us!

Tasha and I sure had a great time! Thanks again Byron and Christy for letting me be part of this! The pictures I took can be found here.

After 15 or more years…

Sunday I got to see my step-brother. I have not seen him in probably 15 years. Way too long! Man, is he big!

For those of you that have no idea what I am talking about. Jon (my step-dad) had a son Jon and he came to visit the Wallin side of the family this weekend. He brought his girlfriend Tracy and from what we can tell they had a good time. I hope we will get to see them again sooner than later.

We took some pictures to remember their first trip to Texas. We were all very excited and can’t wait to see them again!

Philip and I think he looks just like his Daddy! Take a look at the pics and let us know what you think.

He Didn’t Build It, But He Sure Does Own It – National Champs 2005!

In-Vince-able!
In-Vince-able!

HOOK ‘EM! – Vince Young owns the Rose bowl with 2 unbelievable performances in the Grand Daddy of all bowl games!!!!

All the hype was true! An awesome game from start to finish. USC fans may gripe about the touchdown that wasn’t, but they scored on that drive that had the Longhorn intercetion that wasn’t! More to come later!

Wonder if theose Heisman voters are questioning their votes?!?!?

Tuck your kids in with this!

My mom sent me this in an email. This is the best remake of the Christmas classic….EVER!

T’was the NIGHT OF THE ROSE BOWL

T’was the night of the Rose Bowl…and all through the land,
All the Longhorns were stirring, even the band.
The tickets were purchased for the game, room, and air…
In hopes that “Saint Vincent” would soon be there!!

The fans were tailgating from their truck beds,
While a vision of a championship danced in their heads.
And Bevo in his bridle, and me in my cap…
Had just popped a cold one before the first snap.

When out on the turf there arose such a clatter,
I sprang to my feet to see what was the matter!!
My eyes fixed on the tunnel, and the thundering herd;
The roar of the fight song; I sang every word!!
They ran to the end zone, and knelt to their maker…
Giving thanks for TEXAS, and the victory later!!

When, what to my wondering eyes should appear.
Coach Mack in his glory, “THE HEAD COACH OF THE YEAR”!
And our hero from Houston that I haven’t seen since;
I knew in a moment it must be “Saint Vince”!

More rapid than eagles his posse they came…
And he whistled and shouted and called them by name!
Now, THOMAS! Now, TAYLOR! Now, PITTMAN and SWEED!
On, CHARLES! On, GRIFFIN! ROSS, HUFF and McGEE!
To the top of the world for a championship crown!
Now dash away, dash away, to a TEXAS touchdown!

They fought with fury! They fought with might!
They fought like champions on this championship night!
Oh! The bombs they flew, and the holes blew open…
The Longhorns ran the ball just as we were hop’in.
The defense attacked, and oh, they played hard!
Stopping the Trojans, in their own back yard!

Mack’s eyes how they twinkled, his dimples, how merry!
His cheeks were like roses, the “crystal ball” he did carry!
He embraced his coaches, he embraced his team!
And “The Eyes of TEXAS” we all did sing

A season that will live forever in lore;
COME EARLY, WEAR ORANGE, STAY LATE, once more!

MERRY CHRISTMAS, TEXAS!! HOOK ‘EM HORNS

Hope everyone enjoyed it as much as I did! Let’s hope it rings true on the 4th!

Hook ‘em!
