The Paper Bag Tragedy!

We just got back from running some errands. One of the errands was a trip to the liquor store. We picked up a bottle of Crown Royal for some friends and a bottle of 1800 Reposado Tequila for us. The liquor store did the usual of putting the bottles in a brown paper bag.

When we got home and were emptying the car, I was holding the paper bag in one hand and getting the other stuff we bought out of the Forester with the other. As I was grabbing our new rug, the paper bag began to tear. I tried to position my foot below the bottles to help break the impact, but could not position it in time. The bottle of Crown Royal was unscathed thanks to the cardboard box packaging and the purple felt bag, but the $30 bottle of 1800 Reposado fell to an all too early death. 🙁

Looks like I am margarita-less until next weekend! 👿

  1. On the bright side, at least it was just $30. If that happened with one of my bottles of $90 Scotch, I’d weep for weeks…

  2. You referring to the 50 yr. being distilled in 1937? ‘Cause that’s correct…you count from the date of distillery to the date of bottling, which, presumably, was in ’87.
